About the role
The Safety Management System (SMS) Engineer will lead ICAO‑based safety activities for the On Wing Support (OWS) centre in Dubai, reporting to the onsite Quality and Safety Leader. You will drive a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the long‑term business plan across the GE Aerospace network.
Key responsibilities
- Lead ICAO SMS implementation and promote safety culture at the shop and field sites.
- Develop and deliver SMS training for all staff.
- Act as secondary liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure all regulatory, customer and supplier audit requirements are met.
- Conduct internal audits locally and at remote locations.
- Perform root‑cause analysis and event investigations, and own the proactive SMS framework for the site.
- Lead RCCA execution and share best practices across the OWS network and GE Aerospace Quality Organization.
Required profile
- Aeronautical Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence.
- Minimum five years of experience in aviation safety, compliance monitoring or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, ICAO 9859, and regional safety regulations (e.g., GCAA CAR‑SMS).
