Senior Academic Advisor – College of Engineering

About the role

The Senior Academic Advisor supports the College of Engineering by delivering comprehensive academic advising and overseeing internship services. This role ensures students receive accurate guidance on degree requirements, course selection, and career‑related experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange, schedule, and conduct advising sessions covering degree programs, minors, and registration.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of departmental curricula, policies, and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with faculty, the Head of Department, and other stakeholders to resolve advising and registration issues.
• Perform degree audits for graduating and near‑graduating students.
• Enter and maintain accurate records of advising activities and student data.
• Utilize data analytics to aid semester scheduling and enrollment planning.
• Provide backup support for primary advisors, handling walk‑ins, calls, and emails.
• Contribute to the digitization of advising services and monitor student progress toward graduation.
• Identify at‑risk students and connect them with appropriate resources.
• Develop and expand internship opportunities by liaising with industry partners and the university’s career services.
• Conduct workshops and informational sessions on internship benefits and application processes.
