Senior Accountant / Finance & Accounting Team Leader

About the role

EMH Holding FZE is seeking a senior, hands‑on accounting professional to own accounting quality and coordinate international finance teams. The role is based in Dubai but will supervise financial operations across the group, especially in the Netherlands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate accounting teams across overseas offices using digital accounting systems, shared workflows, clear deadlines and regular virtual reviews.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping, bank transaction postings, bank reconciliations and outstanding balances.
• Review invoices for completeness, supporting documents, ledger coding and correct VAT treatment, resolving discrepancies before posting.
• Prepare and coordinate VAT returns and work with external advisers on European, particularly Dutch, accounting and tax obligations.
• Analyse revenue, costs, margins, cash flow and outstanding balances; explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare management reports and PowerPoint presentations, lead financial review meetings and track agreed actions.

Required profile

• Substantial hands‑on accounting experience with the ability to lead or supervise a team.
• Strong practical knowledge of bookkeeping, invoice controls, bank reconciliation and VAT reporting.
• Basic understanding of European legal, accounting and tax requirements; Dutch accounting and VAT experience preferred.
• Professional English with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑accounting stakeholders.
• Independent, analytical and proactive mindset with sound judgment and leadership skills.
