Senior Accountant (Freelance)

About the role

Nexus Trust Accounting & Tax Services LLC is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Accountant to manage accounting activities for a portfolio of UAE‑based clients. The role is remote and flexible, requiring independent handling of multiple client files while meeting strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and perform bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review revenue, expenses and ledger accounts to spot unusual movements or incorrect postings.
• Manage accruals, pre‑payments and month‑end adjustments in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Prepare VAT returns, corporate tax workings and supporting schedules for internal review.
• Produce monthly management reports, financial statements and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
• Organise supporting documentation to meet UAE regulatory and FTA record‑keeping requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA or CPA is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and IFRS.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Zoho Books.
• Experience with QuickBooks or Xero.
• Solid practical understanding of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and IFRS.
