Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will report to the Head of Finance and take day‑to‑day responsibility for accounting, financial reporting and project cost management across the business. Working in a newly established team with a large pipeline, you will handle a broad scope of financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank, payroll, tax, month‑end processes and project reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, forecasts and monthly management accounts, reporting on variances and financial trends.
• Maintain P&L, balance‑sheet and cash‑flow reporting, including reconciliations and month/year‑end close support.
• Manage AP/AR and project ledger data, monitor cash flow and commercial matters such as contracts, insurances and bonds/guarantees.
• Support local regulatory and tax reporting requirements in compliance with UAE regulations.
• Assist with financial systems/ERP improvements, testing and maintenance of reporting schedules and KPIs.
• Develop accounting policies and internal‑control documentation.
• Track and report project‑level costs, budgets and P&L, including subcontractor/PO allocations.
• Support the Head of Finance with board reporting, parent‑company liaison and external audit coordination.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting or finance roles within the construction or engineering sectors.
• Solid technical accounting skills across AP, AR, payroll, tax and financial reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems in a construction or project‑based environment.
• Demonstrated ability to support month‑end close processes and financial reporting cycles.
• Qualified accountant (CPA, CA or equivalent) with 6‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Logical approach to selectively using AI tools (Claude) within the finance function.
