Senior Associate - Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions

About the role

Baker McKenzie’s Mergers & Acquisitions team in the United Arab Emirates is looking for an ambitious Senior Associate with 6 to 10 years of post‑qualification experience. The role involves advising on large, complex, cross‑border M&A, venture capital, private equity and investment fund transactions for sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, regional funds and family offices.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate key transaction documents such as term sheets, offer letters, subscription agreements, share sale and purchase agreements, shareholders agreements and joint‑venture agreements.
• Manage due‑diligence, disclosure exercises and transaction closings in collaboration with senior team members.
• Provide a high level of client service and develop commercial, sector‑specific advice.
• Supervise junior lawyers and paralegals, sharing knowledge and supporting their development.
• Participate in business development activities and promote the firm’s capabilities.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate, M&A, venture capital, private equity or investment funds.
• Experience working with sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations or regional investment funds.
• Strong client‑facing skills and ability to take responsibility for complex transactions.
• Willingness to develop leadership skills and mentor junior team members.
