Senior Business Development Executive - Freight

About the role

ZAJEL is looking for a Senior Business Development Executive for its freight forwarding business in Dubai. The role drives business growth through independent client acquisition, retention and key account management, mentors junior team members, supports the overall sales strategy and helps maintain strong market positioning through consistent revenue, customer satisfaction and process excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own strategic or high-value clients, securing long-term retention, account growth and contract renewals
• Build and monitor a robust sales pipeline, report it to senior management and coordinate proposals and tender submissions
• Coordinate with the sales manager on repeat business, cross-selling and up-selling, and on sales strategies for each product and service
• Contribute to sales forecasting, target segmentation and market mapping, share competitor insights and attend forecast meetings
• Help resolve escalations, log client feedback and support client onboarding
• Liaise with Operations, Finance, IT and Customer Service to hand over closed deals and align delivery expectations
• Evaluate sales data and pipeline performance, recommend corrective actions and represent the company at industry events and exhibitions
• Prepare MIS statements and reports, give feedback on policies and procedures and comply with quality management and information security requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Prior logistics experience of at least 5 years preferred
