Senior Communications Specialist – Fixed-Term (1 Year)

About the role

Careem is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist on a one-year fixed-term contract to lead both external and internal communication initiatives from its Dubai office. The role will support the company’s diverse services—including ride‑hailing, food delivery, payments and quick commerce—by shaping narratives that reinforce its mission to simplify lives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communication strategies that amplify Careem’s mission, services and impact across priority markets.
• Manage media relations, including press outreach, drafting press releases and maintaining relationships with journalists and influencers.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, policy and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
• Handle crisis communication and reputation management in partnership with senior leadership.
• Track media coverage, produce regular reports and provide insights for continuous improvement.
• Support executive visibility through media interviews, speaking opportunities and authored content.
• Design and deliver internal communication campaigns, all‑hands moments and leadership messages to engage and inspire employees.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior communications or public‑relations roles, preferably within fast‑moving technology or consumer‑service companies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Experience handling crisis communication and reputation management.
