Senior Customer Support Engineer - Gulf Region

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for a Senior Customer Support Engineer for the Gulf region, based in Abu Dhabi. The role leads all aspects of working with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, investigate them, implement corrective actions and develop risk mitigation strategies across the Balance of Plant (BOP) portfolio of products, including steam, gas, HRSG, boilers, BMS and electrical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and technical guidance for new installations, outages and upgrades, and for plant operations, meeting safety, quality and timeliness goals.
• Partner with Design Engineering teams and interface with external and internal suppliers to implement Fleet Program technical solutions.
• Respond to customer technical requests, escalate issues and act as liaison between field and design engineering to drive corrective actions.
• Oversee Contractual Services and Field Services during planned outages to meet reliability and availability goals.
• Maintain customer relationships so their technical needs are understood and addressed promptly.
• Lead root cause analysis and investigation activities, coordinating with Product Service, System and Design Engineering teams.
• Prepare technical presentations for GE leaders and customers, support technical review meetings and recommend actions.
• Support unplanned and forced outages, and travel to customer locations for technical reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Controls or Instrumentation engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience installing, commissioning and maintaining GE gas turbines and/or generators.
• Extensive experience with power plant design and upgrades, including system analysis and testing.
• Ability to travel 25-50% of the time; must qualify for CCIP pass and hold Abu Dhabi residency.
• Desired: matrix leadership experience, field engineering or customer-facing background, and flexibility to work off-hours and weekends for emergencies.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of GE GT/ST, BOP equipment, heavy-duty gas turbines and steam turbines.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
