Senior Design Engineer – Composites

About the role

EDGE’s Advanced Concepts division seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead composite design and manufacturing for high‑technology autonomous systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles and precision munitions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design reviews, critique new concepts and select optimal manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement engineering changes, work instructions and monitor compliance on the shop floor.
• Drive material and process selection, design alternative processes to improve quality, efficiency and cost competitiveness.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, generate reports and create actionable plans to enhance production efficiency.
• Participate in technical design reviews, evaluate manufacturability and provide feedback for production‑ready designs.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years in production engineering with a focus on composites, preferably in aerospace, defense or precision engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Materials Science or related field; certifications in DFMA, Six Sigma or lean manufacturing are a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with experience using SAP or other ERP systems.

• Six Sigma, lean manufacturing methodologies.
