Senior Hardware Researcher (Cybersecurity)

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Senior Researcher to lead security evaluations of IT products, embedded systems, firmware, software and hardware devices. The role involves hands‑on cybersecurity testing, vulnerability analysis and technical assessments to uncover security weaknesses and support risk‑based decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze products, firmware, software, hardware components and documentation to identify attack surfaces.
• Perform security testing such as vulnerability assessments, firmware analysis, reverse engineering, fuzzing, logical attacks, debug interface testing, side‑channel analysis, fault injection and cryptographic testing.
• Collect and examine technical evidence including logs, traces, binaries, signal captures and measurement data.
• Document findings and vulnerabilities in structured technical reports and maintain traceable records of all testing activities.
• Support planning and execution of evaluation projects and contribute to the improvement of testing methodologies, tools and reusable procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity evaluation, penetration testing, vulnerability research or hardware security testing.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one area such as firmware analysis, fuzzing, exploit development, debug interface testing, side‑channel analysis, fault injection or cryptographic testing.
• Good understanding of security testing methodologies, standards and ISO/IEC 17025 (advantage).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, OSCP) are preferred.
