Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Etihad Water & Electricity is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls across the organization. The role is based at the head office in Ajman and involves leading audit activities that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute internal audits across financial, operational, and compliance areas.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement audit plans aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process enhancement.
• Present audit findings and actionable recommendations to the Head of Internal Audit.
• Support the development and execution of the annual Internal Audit plan.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Mentor and guide audit team members while promoting continuous learning and best practices.
• Drive operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit function.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA or CPA.
• 7–8 years of experience in Internal Audit and Risk Management.
• Strong analytical, investigative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
