Senior IT Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

The Senior IT Engineer provides advanced technical support, maintains enterprise IT infrastructure and ensures the reliability, security and performance of IT systems. The role leads technical initiatives, supports end users, contributes to IT projects and works across teams to align technology solutions with business objectives. The position is based in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support to end users, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, network and system issues.
• Maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, keeping systems available, performant and secure.
• Assist in planning, designing and executing IT projects such as system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, hardware refreshes and software deployments.
• Take part in Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives to evaluate new technologies.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application support and project management teams, and communicate solution designs with stakeholders and IT leadership.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs and improve services proactively.
• Implement data retention, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
• Maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, configurations and knowledge base articles.
• Manage ITSM platforms and helpdesk tools such as ManageEngine and ServiceNow.
• Support Unified Communications solutions including Microsoft Teams.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, managed switches, VPNs and WAFs.
• Mentor junior IT team members when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in end-user support and enterprise IT environments.
• Experience managing enterprise security solutions, firewalls and endpoint protection platforms.
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices and ITSM frameworks is highly desirable; experience in construction, engineering, real estate or similar project-driven industries is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking and virtualization.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Administrator, ITIL, CCNA or equivalent.
• Analytical troubleshooting, stakeholder management, documentation and process orientation.
