Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead detailed mechanical design work for high‑rise and hospitality projects in Dubai. The successful candidate will bring extensive consultancy experience, a strong understanding of local regulations, and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed design drawings for HVAC, public health, fire protection, BMS, irrigation, swimming pool and gas systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, schedules and design development reports.
• Coordinate design activities with multidisciplinary project teams and monitor the performance of junior engineers.
• Ensure designs meet contractual scope, budget, deadlines and all statutory/regulatory requirements.
• Support submittals and obtain No‑Objection Certificates from Dubai authorities (DM, DEWA, Civil Defence, Trakhees, EHS, DDA).
• Participate in project and team meetings, providing updates and technical guidance.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering consultancy in the UAE.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Membership of a recognized professional body such as CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE (desirable).
• Proven track record delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
