Senior Production Engineer – Heavy Steel Fabrication

About the role

The company seeks an experienced Senior Production Engineer to lead production and fabrication activities for heavy steel structures, pressure vessels, process skids and storage tanks at its workshop in Umm Al Quwain.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor fabrication activities, preparing job plans and production schedules based on manpower, materials and equipment.
• Interpret and review fabrication and isometric drawings, ensuring compliance with ASME, API and AWS codes.
• Oversee welding operations (TIG, MIG, SMAW, SAW) and correct handling of material grades.
• Lead a team of 50+ workmen, troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor productivity, resource utilization and adherence to project timelines while ensuring HSE and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5‑6 years of experience in heavy steel fabrication, pressure vessels, process skids or storage tanks.
• Proven ability to manage large workshop teams and coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, procurement and other functions.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and productivity norms.
