Senior Relationship Manager Private Banking - Middle East & Africa

About the role

Julius Baer is recruiting a Senior Relationship Manager Private Banking for its Middle East & Africa region. The Relationship Manager is the main point of contact between the bank and its clients, acting as an external ambassador and managing a portfolio of High Net Worth and/or Ultra High Net Worth private clients. The role covers delivering tailored wealth management solutions, acquiring new clients, mentoring junior team members and acting as first line of defence on risk and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve clients with the highest quality standards, responding to their needs promptly and tailoring contact frequency to their preferences
• Deliver tailored wealth management strategies and investment advice in line with the bank's policies and risk appetite
• Acquire new clients and grow existing ones through cross-selling and deeper engagement, while managing at-risk clients and succession planning
• Take part in client initiatives, marketing strategies and ad hoc projects requested by management
• Maintain a strong conduct culture: high KYC quality, timely resolution of alerts and notifications, and escalation of risks and concerns to Group Heads and the second line of defence
• Evaluate credit, trading, compliance and reputational risks and foster collaboration with risk, compliance and legal functions

Required profile

• Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in Private Banking, servicing a book of HNW clients and acquiring new relationships
• Sound affinity with the geographic market(s) to be covered and familiarity with the local legal and regulatory environment
• Very good interpersonal skills, persistence, persuasiveness and ability to work under pressure
• Autonomous planning and organisation of work, willingness to travel, and sound commercial judgement
