Senior Specialist, Bidding and Proposals

About the role

A leading defense and advanced technology group in the UAE is seeking a Senior Specialist for its Bidding and Proposals function in Abu Dhabi. The role acts as a senior technical writer and process owner on high-complexity defense bids, turning sophisticated engineering solutions into persuasive, compliant proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit and restructure complex proposal sections such as executive summaries, management approaches, past performance narratives and technical discriminators
• Coordinate data calls across internal engineering teams and external tier-1 subcontractors to gather accurate, verified inputs
• Perform detailed red-line checks and compliance audits on draft volumes before formal color team reviews
• Help improve proposal knowledge libraries, boilerplate repositories and standard templates
• Translate technical capabilities into clear client benefits and win themes

Required profile

• 5 to 8 years of professional experience in defense bidding, technical writing or proposal coordination
• Background in defense, aerospace or complex technical engineering
• Familiarity with government tender structures and military specifications (Mil-Specs)
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Nice to have: experience with RFP, RFQ and ITT responses; exposure to Tawazun or other UAE government tender processes; experience building proposal content libraries
