Senior Specialist - Purchasing

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Purchasing will lead tendering, award, and post‑award activities for purchase orders across the cluster. You will advise stakeholders on procurement planning, ensure compliance with policies, and drive cost‑effective sourcing strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Advise cluster stakeholders in developing annual procurement plans and ensure policy compliance.
• Participate in pre‑tender meetings, understand purchasing needs, and review purchase orders.
• Negotiate purchasing agreements and evaluate materials to meet business specifications.
• Assess and select the best suppliers, vendors, and bidders for required goods.
• Facilitate approval of purchasing invoices and verify their accuracy.
• Evaluate purchasing variations and claims, preparing recommendations for corporate approval.
• Monitor industry trends and devise tender strategies for cost‑effective solutions.
• Prepare management reports on purchasing activities, issues, and improvement plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 6‑8 years of experience in a similar procurement role, covering pre‑award and post‑award management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement regulations and industry standards.
• High proficiency in English; working knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and relationship‑management abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
