Senior Structural Technical Office Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Technical Office Engineer to support a major hospital project in the UAE. The role involves overseeing structural documentation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate structural drawings, specifications, BOQ and contract documents.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, coordination drawings and technical submissions.
• Coordinate structural works with architectural, MEP and other disciplines.
• Identify discrepancies, clashes and constructability issues in design drawings.
• Prepare and review RFIs, method statements, material submittals and technical reports.
• Incorporate consultant comments and ensure timely closure.
• Perform quantity take‑offs, material calculations and engineering evaluations.
• Assist in evaluating variations, claims and cost implications.
• Support site teams in resolving technical and construction issues.
• Monitor works against approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Review subcontractor/supplier submissions for compliance.
• Maintain complete technical documentation and participate in stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8–12+ years of experience in structural engineering and technical office functions.
• Proven experience on large‑scale building projects, preferably hospitals, healthcare facilities, high‑rise or commercial complexes.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel construction.
• Experience with shop drawings, coordination, RFIs, quantity take‑offs and variation management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret structural drawings and design documents.
