Simulator Technician

About the role

The Simulator Technician I will support operation, maintenance and reliability of simulator equipment in CAE's maritime training environment in Abu Dhabi. This entry‑level position offers structured training and hands‑on experience for recent graduates or early‑career technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and visual system alignments on simulators and associated systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including running automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
• Record maintenance activities in the management system and assist with parts logistics.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑training checks, support simulator refurbishment and hardware modifications.
• Provide responsive technical support to customers and the wider Technical Services team.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree or four‑year Bachelor’s in electronics, computers, IT, mechatronics or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant technical experience.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, read system drawings and technical schematics.
• Driving licence and fluency in English.

Required skills

• Use of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and logic analysers.
• Soldering and circuit board repair.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital theory.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
