Site Buyer

About the role

The Site Buyer supports CB&I Storage Solutions by sourcing commodities and services, evaluating bids, and managing contracts. This role reports to the Project Procurement Lead and works closely with engineering, operations, and estimating teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare contract documents, bidder lists, and issue requests for quotations.
• Purchase project material and services at or below estimate while meeting schedule requirements.
• Perform bid evaluations, negotiate purchase orders, and issue purchase orders for commodity items and finished goods.
• Resolve simple vendor claims or disputes and assist with award and conforming processes.
• Support budgeting for equipment, material, or labor for non‑major projects.
• Recommend and implement improvements to procurement tools, systems, and software.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the EPC industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, macros) and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of contract terms and conditions.
• Ability to perform cost‑benefit analysis and value‑based decision making.
