Site Cost Manager – Building Projects

About the role

The Site Cost Manager will oversee the commercial and financial performance of building construction projects from start‑up to hand‑over. You will be responsible for monitoring budgets, forecasting costs, managing variations and ensuring that projects are delivered within approved financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets, maintaining cost plans and cost‑control systems.
• Track actual costs, commitments, accruals and forecasts; identify overruns, risks and savings opportunities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports, develop Cost‑to‑Complete (CTC) and Estimate‑at‑Completion (EAC) forecasts.
• Review, evaluate and document project variations and change orders; support variation claim preparation.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier commercial submissions, interim payments and final accounts.
• Coordinate with procurement, quantity surveying, engineering and project teams to monitor procurement costs and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Verify site measurements, quantities and BOQs; ensure accurate valuations and payment applications.
• Identify commercial risks and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in building construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of construction cost control, quantity surveying and subcontractor management.
• Proven ability to manage variations, forecasts and financial reporting.
