Staff Nurse – Primary Care Infectious Diseases

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct patient care in a primary care setting focused on infectious diseases. The role involves comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnostic testing, and coordination of care for adult and geriatric patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform age‑specific patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as nasal swabs for Influenza A/B, Respiratory Viral Panel, rapid strep tests, colour‑vision and visual acuity assessments, and assist with Pap smear swabs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, document care accurately, and ensure compliance with JCIA standards.
• Maintain supplies, handle narcotic/controlled drugs safely, and participate in unit quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent) and registration as a Registered Nurse in an approved country.
• Minimum two years recent post‑graduate experience in a primary‑care setting.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications.
• Ability to work onsite in Dubai and hold a valid license to practice.
