Steward (Stewarding Attendant)

About the role

The Stewarding Attendant supports the Food & Beverage team by ensuring a clean, safe and hygienic environment throughout the hotel’s back‑of‑house areas. You will work closely with chefs and front‑of‑house staff to deliver seamless service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Manage stewarding sections, plan rosters and supervise teams to meet business demands.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of all stewarding stores and kitchen areas.
• Follow clean‑as‑you‑go policy and keep work areas tidy at all times.
• Use appropriate cleaning agents, equipment and procedures in line with hotel standards.
• Handle and store equipment correctly, including temperature‑controlled machinery.
• Perform deep‑cleaning of kitchen areas, ice machines, shelves, filters and metalware.
• Control and record breakages, manage pest‑control procedures and ensure HACCP compliance.
• Support chefs and front‑of‑house staff with any cleaning requests and assist in other areas as directed.
