Structural Design Engineer – Expression of Interest

About the role

GHD is seeking experienced Structural Design Engineers to join its growing Middle East team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering high‑quality structural designs for building and infrastructure projects while collaborating across a global network of architects, engineers and planners.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering design activities, ensuring accuracy, technical quality and compliance with international standards and client requirements.
• Take personal responsibility for project delivery, producing deliverables within programmed timescales and mentoring less‑experienced team members.
• Interpret and apply relevant client, industry and GHD standards, and work collaboratively with other GHD offices on local and international projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering with at least 8 years of professional experience on building and infrastructure projects.
• Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (MICE, MIStructE) and familiarity with UAE Authority design requirements.
• Experience delivering projects from design through completion in multi‑disciplinary, multi‑office environments.

Required skills

• Proficient in structural engineering software: CSi ETABS, SAFE, Robot Structural Analysis, STAAD, Prokon and custom spreadsheets.
• Ability to work in a 3D design environment and follow BIM protocols.
• Knowledge of design and specification of steel, concrete and masonry structures to American and British standards.
