Student Counsellor (July/August 2026)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Student Counsellor to join our girls’ high school in Sharjah for the July/August 2026 term. The role focuses on supporting the academic, social, emotional and personal development of students, working closely with parents, teachers and school leadership to foster wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling sessions addressing academic, emotional and social issues.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and monitor student support plans.
• Maintain accurate records, produce reports and contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Organise workshops and programmes that promote mental health and personal growth.
• Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (mandatory).
• Professional counselling certification or licence (preferred).
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a psychologist or student counsellor, preferably in a school setting.

• Strong counselling and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, parents and staff.
• Effective record‑keeping, reporting and organisational capabilities.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and student welfare practices.
