Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Energy Sector

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the energy sector to provide strategic advisory support on regulatory frameworks, sector reforms, and large‑scale energy initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advisory on energy sector policies, regulations, and reforms.
• Contribute to the development and review of national regulatory frameworks.
• Support large‑scale infrastructure and transformation projects within the energy sector.
• Conduct international benchmarking and recommend best practices.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including government entities and regulatory bodies.
• Offer insights on the UAE energy regulatory landscape and market dynamics.

Required profile

• Minimum 20+ years of experience in oil & gas, petroleum products, gas regulation, or energy sector strategy.
• Proven experience in policy formulation, regulatory frameworks, and sector reforms.
• Strong exposure to large‑scale infrastructure or national‑level projects.
• Demonstrated ability in cross‑agency coordination and stakeholder management.
• Experience working with or advising government regulators or energy authorities (e.g., DoE, ADNOC, DMT).
• Background in international consulting firms or advisory roles is a strong plus.
