Trackwork Construction Manager (Railway/High-Speed Rail/Infrastructure)

About the role

The Trackwork Construction Manager will lead the delivery of track construction activities for a 150 km high‑speed railway alignment in the UAE. This senior construction leadership position oversees both ballasted and slab track systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and on‑schedule execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all trackwork construction activities across the high‑speed railway alignment.
• Lead construction of ballasted track and slab track systems, including installation, alignment, levelling, tamping and welding.
• Plan and schedule works in line with project milestones, critical‑path activities and interface requirements.
• Directly supervise approximately 20 site supervisors, section managers, trackwork engineers and technical personnel.
• Allocate manpower, plant and equipment according to production priorities.
• Set and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Ensure compliance with approved Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), drawings and technical specifications.
• Monitor productivity, progress and quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain HSE standards, risk assessments, permits and site procedures.
• Collaborate with the Quality team to meet high‑speed railway standards.
• Participate in construction planning, progress reviews and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Identify risks, constraints and potential delays, developing mitigation and recovery plans.

Required profile

• Extensive railway trackwork experience, preferably on high‑speed projects.
• Proven senior construction leadership and work‑front management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, multidisciplinary construction teams.
• Strong knowledge of ballasted and slab track systems and associated construction methods.
• Experience with production planning, resource allocation and performance monitoring.
• Solid understanding of HSE requirements and quality assurance processes.
