Trainee Underwriter - UAE National

About the role

Cigna Healthcare is looking for a UAE National to join its underwriting team as a Trainee Underwriter. The role supports the team in assessing and evaluating risks for individual and group health insurance policies, while developing the trainee's skills and knowledge in underwriting.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate risks for potential clients to determine coverage needs and premium costs.
• Work closely with senior underwriters to learn the principles and practices of underwriting.
• Prepare and review underwriting documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate records and databases with the underwriting team.
• Communicate with clients, brokers and other stakeholders to gather information for risk assessment.
• Take part in training programs and workshops to build underwriting knowledge and skills.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• UAE National.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, eager to learn and develop a career in underwriting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
