Warehouse & Overland Transportation Team Leader

About the role

The Warehouse and Overland Transportation Team Leader will oversee daily warehouse and truck operations, ensuring cargo is handled safely, accurately and in line with customer requirements, company procedures and relevant legislation. This role leads a dedicated team, coordinates with customers, service providers and internal stakeholders, and drives operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and allocate daily activities for the warehouse and overland transportation team.
• Coordinate warehouse operations from a 3PL perspective, ensuring receipt, storage, handling and dispatch of cargo according to SOPs.
• Manage handling of various cargo types including general cargo, dangerous goods, FMCG, pharma and customer‑specific requirements.
• Monitor warehouse documentation, stock movements, billing and charge verification for accuracy.
• Coordinate truck bookings, monitor daily transportation activities and ensure jobs meet customer expectations.
• Verify transportation billing and supporting documentation.
• Track performance metrics, address operational issues promptly and ensure compliance with legislation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading warehouse and transportation teams.
• Strong knowledge of SOPs, customs and regulatory requirements for cargo handling.
• Ability to coordinate with customers, service providers and internal departments.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills.
