Wet Utilities Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary consultancy team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on planning and detailed design of wet utility networks for infrastructure and land development projects, emphasizing design and authority approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Design potable water, fire‑fighting, irrigation, foul sewer and stormwater systems, including manholes, chambers, pumping stations and storage facilities.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and schematics using CAD software and develop hydraulic models to optimise system performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies, perform pipe sizing and flow calculations, and ensure designs comply with Abu Dhabi authority standards.
• Prepare technical reports, design specifications and bill of quantities, and support construction through shop‑drawing reviews and RFI responses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering consultancy, preferably on UAE/GCC wet‑utility projects.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi authority submission procedures is highly preferred.
• Professional membership or progress towards membership (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, ASCE) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hydraulic modelling tools: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET.
• CAD/BIM software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrawizard.
• Office tools for calculations and reporting: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
