Winch Operator – Offshore Pipelay & Anchor Handling

About the role

Saipem is seeking an experienced Winch Operator to join its offshore crew on moored S‑Lay Barges or Semi‑Submersible Pipelay vessels operating in Azerbaijan waters. The role involves safe and efficient control of winch and anchor handling systems to support pipelaying, mooring and deck operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate winch and anchor winch systems in accordance with operational tracks and safety procedures.
• Support vessel positioning activities and coordinate deck marine tasks.
• Maintain and repair deck equipment, including scraping, cleaning, priming and painting.
• Manage the Anchor Winch Control Room and ensure proper communication during anchor handling.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of offshore experience as a Winch Operator on pipelay or mooring vessels.
• Valid offshore certifications and strong commitment to HSE standards.
• Ability to work in a multicultural offshore environment and follow Permit‑to‑Work procedures.
