AI Agent Engineering Project Intern – Corporate Service System (Procurement)

About the role

ByteDance’s Corporate Information department is transforming its traditional procurement system into an AI‑native platform. As an AI Agent Engineering Project Intern you will work on building Procurement Agents that can plan, act and deliver reliably, gaining hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge AI technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation and validation of Procurement Agents and the underlying System AI Harness under mentor guidance.
• Develop and maintain services, business logic and data flows that power AI‑native procurement, ensuring code quality and reliability.
• Explore AI Agent capabilities such as planning, tool use, memory and multi‑step reasoning and turn them into functional features.
• Build quick prototypes, experiment with emerging AI techniques, and translate promising ideas into product capabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to break down problems and deliver complete solutions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.
• Strong interest in AI, machine learning and agent‑based systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced engineering team.
