Deputy Technical Manager – Abu Dhabi

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking an experienced Deputy Technical Manager to lead the design and technical delivery of multidisciplinary projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves coordinating design packages, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Track scope changes and enforce change‑control and technical query processes across all projects.
• Communicate residual risks to construction teams and ensure pre‑construction information and design risk assessments are completed in line with Construction Methodology.
• Support the application of engineering practices and codes, promoting the use of standard products wherever possible.
• Provide technical oversight by reviewing and approving technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals and RFIs.
• Manage design coordination by reviewing IFC drawings, aligning interfaces across disciplines, and evaluating design changes and value‑engineering proposals.
• Engage with local authorities, utility agencies and stakeholders to secure approvals, permits and NOCs.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and management summaries, maintaining accurate records of approvals and decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• More than 13 years of design experience, including at least 10 years in senior technical roles.
