Director of Development – Real Estate & Hospitality

About the role

The Director of Development will lead Al Futtaim Group’s real estate and hospitality projects, shaping strategy, overseeing execution, and ensuring each development aligns with the company’s growth and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for real‑estate and hospitality projects, ensuring alignment with corporate vision.
• Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting and financial modeling to achieve optimal project performance.
• Manage the full development lifecycle from inception to completion, meeting milestones and budget constraints.
• Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Identify and mitigate market, financial and operational risks while ensuring compliance with local regulations and sustainability standards.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, fostering collaboration, innovation and professional growth.
• Integrate green building standards and cutting‑edge technologies to minimise environmental impact.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in real‑estate or hospitality development.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate market data into actionable strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Track record of delivering large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
