Director of Human Resources – Pre‑Opening Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the people strategy for the pre‑opening phase of the Gran Meliá Dubai Jumeirah, a new luxury hotel slated to open in 2027. Reporting to the General Manager and Executive Committee, you will shape the cultural foundation and build high‑performing teams that deliver the Gran Meliá spirit.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the HR strategy from pre‑opening through operational launch, aligned with the hotel’s business objectives.
• Partner with senior leadership to define workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and talent development for 366 rooms and suites.
• Establish HR policies, compensation structures, and performance management systems suitable for a luxury hospitality environment.
• Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, respect and belonging.
• Oversee employee relations, compliance with UAE labour law, and health & safety standards.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and promote the Gran Meliá brand values across all staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR leader in luxury hotel pre‑opening projects.
• Strong strategic partnership skills with senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to attract, develop and retain top talent in a fast‑paced hospitality setting.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities, with a focus on building inclusive cultures.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of UAE labour regulations.
• Expertise in HR policy design, compensation & benefits, talent acquisition, and performance management.
