Director of PR for High-Profile Government Account

About the role

The client is a leading PR and communications agency seeking a Director of PR to lead a high‑profile government account in the UAE. This senior, hands‑on position requires strategic vision, meticulous execution, and the confidence to engage directly with senior government stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the overall PR and communications strategy for a major government client.
• Act as a trusted senior advisor to key stakeholders and senior government representatives.
• Manage highly sensitive communications with discretion, accuracy and sound judgement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, media and relevant authorities.
• Provide strategic counsel, confidently challenge or take a stand when required.
• Lead, mentor and manage the account team in a fast‑moving environment.
• Oversee corporate communications, reputation management, media relations and strategic messaging.
• Ensure exceptionally high standards of quality control and attention to detail across all communications.
• Anticipate potential reputational issues and deliver proactive communications counsel.
• Collaborate with regional and global agency leadership on strategy and delivery.

Required profile

• Fluent in Arabic and excellent English communication skills.
• Strong PR agency background, preferably from a leading regional or global firm.
• Significant experience in the UAE PR and communications market.
• Proven experience managing government, semi‑government or highly sensitive corporate accounts.
• Deep understanding of UAE and GCC media, corporate and stakeholder landscape.
• Expertise in corporate communications and reputation management.
• Confident, credible personality comfortable interacting with senior executives and government authorities.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and make sound decisions in sensitive situations.
• Strong leadership skills with experience developing high‑performing teams.
• Extremely detail‑oriented with little room for error.
• Commercially aware, culturally astute and politically sensitive.
