Director of Real Estate Development

About the role

The Director of Development will lead Al‑Futtaim’s real estate and hospitality projects, shaping strategy and overseeing the full project lifecycle from market analysis to delivery. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that development initiatives align with the group’s long‑term vision, profitability targets and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for real‑estate development projects, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
• Conduct comprehensive market research, feasibility studies and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting and financial modeling to optimise project financial performance.
• Monitor project costs, manage risks and ensure financial objectives are met.
• Manage the end‑to‑end development lifecycle, coordinating design, finance, procurement and project‑management teams.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in real‑estate development, preferably within hospitality or mixed‑use projects.
• Strong track record of delivering large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Relevant degree in real‑estate, finance, business or related field.
