Document Controller (HVAC/MEP)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to oversee all project documentation for HVAC and MEP works in Abu Dhabi. The role involves organizing, tracking, and maintaining both electronic and hard‑copy records to ensure compliance with company and project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain HVAC project documents, including drawings, specifications, method statements, material submittals, RFIs, inspection requests and reports.
• Maintain accurate document registers, enforce numbering, revision control and filing procedures.
• Receive, log, distribute and track incoming and outgoing documents, and prepare transmittals.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, consultants and contractors to obtain approvals and resolve comments.
• Monitor document status, follow up on pending approvals and ensure obsolete documents are removed.
• Support preparation and submission of project handover and close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• 2‑5 years of document control experience, preferably on HVAC/MEP construction projects.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and project documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with document management systems such as Aconex, Procore, SharePoint or EDMS.
• Knowledge of document numbering, revision control, transmittals and registers.
