Hardware & Technical Documentation Engineer

About the role

Eaton, a power management company, is looking for an experienced Hardware & Technical Documentation Engineer to join its Middle East Engineering Team in Dubai, UAE. The role covers the design, development, validation and sustaining of electronic hardware for EMEA life safety and power management products, combined with ownership of accurate, compliant technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate electronic hardware and PCBA solutions for protection, control, monitoring and life safety products, including analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture and component selection.
• Run simulations, prototyping, laboratory testing, EMC/EMI validation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and support industrialization, manufacturing readiness reviews and production ramp-up.
• Create and maintain user manuals, installation and maintenance guides, service documentation, labels, packaging labels, engineering drawings and technical illustrations.
• Manage engineering documentation such as schematics, BOMs, design and validation reports, test procedures and test reports, keeping them accurate in PLM systems with proper revision control.
• Support regulatory and certification activities, technical reviews, risk assessments and DFSS, and coordinate with Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• Prepare technical presentations, progress reports and design reviews, and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
• Experience in industrial electronics, embedded hardware, control systems or life safety products.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and supporting product certification, validation and industrialization.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; living and working in Dubai.

Required skills

• Analog and digital electronics design, PCB design and embedded microprocessor/microcontroller systems.
• Engineering documentation management and PLM systems such as Enovia.
• Good to have: Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks Composer, Adobe InDesign, DFSS, IEC and UL standards knowledge.
