Electrical Design Engineer - Power & Industrial Systems

About the role

An engineering team in Dubai is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in power generation or industrial plant engineering. The engineer reports to the Chief Systems Architect.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and verify electrical calculations, load lists and energy balances.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, cable schedules, earthing and lightning protection designs.
• Specify generators, transformers, LV/MV switchgear, protection systems and UPS equipment.
• Perform short-circuit, voltage-drop and protection coordination studies.
• Support energy metering, hazardous-area electrical design, installation and commissioning.
• Prepare accurate, issue-ready electrical drawings and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within power generation or industrial plants.
• Practical LV/MV electrical engineering experience, including hands-on installation and commissioning exposure.
• Strong knowledge of cable sizing, protection systems, earthing and electrical equipment specification.
• Comfortable working independently on engineering calculations and drawings and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM, Amtech or equivalent tools.
