Laboratory Technician – Electromechanical & Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

The School of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology at Canadian University Dubai seeks a full‑time Laboratory Technician to support undergraduate teaching labs for Mechatronics and Power & Renewable Energy programmes. The role ensures safe laboratory operations, reliable equipment performance and compliance with accreditation standards, allowing academic staff to focus on teaching and research.

Key responsibilities

• Manage laboratory inventory, consumables and equipment records.
• Prepare, set up and test laboratory experiments for scheduled teaching sessions.
• Provide technical assistance during laboratory classes, demonstrations and workshops.
• Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Support health, safety and accreditation compliance, including audits and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Assist student projects, capstone activities and applied research with safe use of equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Power Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience with electrical and mechatronics laboratory equipment.
