Classroom Teacher

About the role

The Classroom Teacher is responsible for the safety and education of children at the HEI Early Learning Centre in Dubai, following the Finnish‑inspired HEI curriculum and operational guidelines. The role combines lesson planning, classroom management, and close collaboration with parents and staff to support holistic child development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities aligned with HEI curriculum objectives and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy classroom environment, record accidents and coordinate medical assistance when needed.
• Observe and evaluate each child's performance, produce progress reports and maintain accurate attendance and portfolio records.
• Communicate daily with parents, conduct parent‑teacher conferences and address concerns promptly.
• Supervise, coach and assess teaching assistants, conduct performance reviews and oversee their training.
• Monitor classroom expenses, manage inventory, and ensure cost‑effective use of resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (NCFE Cache Level 3 certificate preferred).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a nursery or early learning setting; 3‑5 years preferred, including supervisory experience.
• Fluency in English and familiarity with child‑centred education philosophy and Finnish/Scandinavian curriculum.

Required skills

• Strong classroom management and positive behaviour reinforcement techniques.
• Ability to plan lessons, schedule activities and maintain detailed records.
• Knowledge of child safety protocols and safeguarding regulations.
