Lead Civil Engineer – Offshore Island Project

About the role

KBR is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to drive the civil and structural engineering effort for an offshore island project in the UAE. The role will initially be based in Abu Dhabi, include a temporary relocation to Spain, and then return to Abu Dhabi to oversee design, construction and commissioning phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural design activities for offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Develop civil design basis, perform structural calculations and design foundations, concrete and steel structures.
• Design underground utilities and drainage systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation).
• Review and approve engineering documents, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC, ADNOC Offshore and international standards (API, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, ASTM).
• Interface with clients, consultants, EPC contractors and vendors on technical matters.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning and site engineering activities.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability and design reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Extensive experience in offshore civil/structural engineering, preferably in oil & gas.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC standards and international codes.
