Operations Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems

About the role

Masdar is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the operational activities of its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) procurement company. The role involves overseeing testing, quality assurance, supplier qualification, and financial processes to ensure successful delivery and performance of BESS projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage BESS procurement operations, including qualification testing, pre‑production testing, and quality assurance.
• Oversee third‑party inspection agencies for testing at various stages and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate production processes, supplier qualification, and manufacturing and transportation schedules.
• Arrange delivery plans, storage, and traceability of Bill of Materials to meet lender requirements.
• Handle finance processes such as opening letters of credit, invoice issuance, cash‑flow management, and bond administration.
• Support negotiation of technical supply agreement requirements to protect consortium interests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, finance or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in contracts and purchasing within a large organization, including 2–3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of financial, legal and corporate responsibility matters.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
