Senior Buyer

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure high‑quality supplies, optimal inventory levels, and competitive pricing. This position supports SEL's manufacturing operations by managing supplier relationships and mitigating supply‑chain risks.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to purchasing policies to secure quality, timely delivery, and cost‑effective supplies.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with company objectives.
• Identify and report supply‑chain risks, proposing mitigation actions.
• Build supplier partnerships, drive improvements, and implement corrective actions following World Class Manufacturing principles.
• Model professional purchasing practices, data analysis, negotiation techniques, and cost‑reduction strategies.

Required profile

• B.A./B.S. in business, operations, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of procurement experience.
• Successful background check and negative drug test results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
