Postdoctoral Fellow – Hydrogeology & Managed Aquifer Recharge

About the role

The National Water and Energy Center at United Arab Emirates University seeks a motivated postdoctoral fellow to advance interdisciplinary research in hydrogeology, managed aquifer recharge, and groundwater resource management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) projects.
• Conduct field investigations, borehole programs, and aquifer testing.
• Assess groundwater quality, perform hydrogeochemical and environmental isotope analyses.
• Integrate geological, geophysical, hydrological, hydrochemical, and remote‑sensing data for groundwater exploration.
• Analyze large geologic and hydrogeologic datasets and prepare technical reports.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to grant proposals.

Required profile

• PhD in Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field earned within the past 5 years.
• Demonstrated experience in field‑based hydrogeologic investigations and data integration.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Excellent technical writing and coordination abilities.
