HSE Manager – Safety & Environment Leadership

About the role

Worley is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) initiatives for a major oil & gas project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures safe project delivery, compliance with legislation, and alignment with Owner expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture and lead a team of HSE professionals.
• Develop, implement and monitor HSSE plans, procedures and emergency response programs.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits and root‑cause investigations, and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with local HSE legislation, permit‑to‑work systems and gas testing requirements.
• Coordinate HSE input during EPC design, construction and handover phases.
• Report HSSE performance metrics and lead weekly HSSE meetings with contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of oil & gas or petrochemical experience, including 5 years in the GCC.
• Proven experience in offshore, brown‑field and EPC projects, preferably ADNOC.
• Professional HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH, GCriGC, ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001 lead auditor.

• Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) system expertise.
• Gas testing and H2S safety knowledge.
• Root‑cause analysis and incident investigation techniques.
