Principal Mechanical Engineer – Autonomous Systems

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical architecture of next‑generation autonomous and unmanned platforms. This senior position offers full technical ownership from concept through production while collaborating closely with systems, electronics, software, and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own mechanical architecture from concept through to production.
• Lead detailed mechanical design and development of complex UAV, robotics and aerospace products.
• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DfM), design quality and production readiness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Establish engineering standards, processes and PLM/PDM systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior or principal mechanical engineering roles within UAV, aerospace, robotics or electromechanical product development.
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects from concept to production.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Expert‑level SolidWorks, Creo or equivalent CAD tools.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and product development processes.
• Proficiency with PLM/PDM systems such as Windchill.
• Deep knowledge of UAV, autonomous systems, robotics, aerospace and electromechanical products.
