Regional Head – Continuous Improvement

About the role

The Regional Head will lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across Maersk sites in the region, ensuring a rigorous, measurable framework is applied consistently. This senior position reports to global operations excellence and acts as the regional voice in global strategy discussions.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Maersk in regional and global forums, advocating for local operational nuances.
• Collaborate with area, regional and global stakeholders to adapt roll‑outs for local feasibility.
• Design and deliver tools, training and coaching for on‑site industrial engineers.
• Define, maintain and enforce a standard CI framework (problem statement, root‑cause analysis, hypothesis testing, measurable success criteria).
• Run audits, reviews and governance checkpoints to ensure compliance.
• Identify large‑scale process improvement opportunities using automation, AI, robotics and digital analytics.
• Partner with local operations to implement and sustain standardized work instructions and performance metrics.
• Lead change‑management activities to secure buy‑in, measure adoption and remove barriers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven experience influencing regional and global stakeholders and translating strategy into operational plans.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to travel regularly across the region.
